First impressions of characolle poser

Some thoughts on characolle poser and moddability. I only spent about 30 mins on it though.

1. Items

The number of items you can add is pretty impressive. There doesn't seem to be a limit to how many items you can put on the screen. The limit would be how much memory you have and whether you can display all of them or not!

You can also add additional items easily, and there doesn't appear to be a limit to that as well.

2. Maps

Switching maps isn't as a convenient, cause you have to go to the scene settings view. But that is a minor issue.

Adding maps is also easy, since you just need to add new entries to the map definition file. Just give the proper arguments, give it a unique index, and then it will be loaded. There is no obvious limit, except having to switch to it is kind of tedious since you can only use the left-right buttons.

3. Loading models

Haven't looked at this. Frankly, I'm not interested due to how you're supposed to interact with models.

4. PP expansion

Every lst file specifies the PP file that the data is stored in. I have confirmed that you can place all maps in one custom PP file, and then simply load them through the lst file. This is pretty convenient, and combined with what seems to be a limitless number of files you can load, it is quite expandable.

5. Hitareas

Reminds me of digital girl. I have great difficulty trying to move characters/items and pose them. It just seems unintuitive compared to yuusha where you can directly specify which parts can be controlled and where to click.

6. Models

It doesn't seem possible to expand on models. When I installed Alicesoft, All-Star gave me 2 characters to choose from. When I installed Key, all-star gave me 4. Moving the PP files from Key folder to Alicesoft folder resulted in Key characters not loading.

So it is possible that they are hardcoded.
